Create Your Audio
There are many options for creating audio and a lot of great information available on the internet, so I won’t repeat, but rather offer up some links:

Transom.org offers tons of information from technical tools to use and product reviews to interviews with radio producers.
Audacity is an easy-to-use, free, open source, cross-platform sound editing program. On the website you’ll even find some Wiki Tutorials, including how to record audio on your computer and how to burn a CD.
If you’re a MAC person, check out Garage Band, which I believe comes standard on Mac computers these days. They have online support, and even a video tutorial.
If you have any website or book recommendations, drop a note in the comments section.
Note: I use a $25 Logitech USB microphone, and it works very well. On the road, I have an M-Audio Microtrak digital recorder which records onto a flash card
