About Us
Us at this point is Jennifer Simpson, an MFA student enrolled in the University of New Mexico’s Creative Writing Program.
Jennifer got hooked on audio when she lived in Chicago…
“Public radio saved me from going insane when I worked at a bank,” she says.
Later, when she lived in San Diego, she became a regular at the DimeStories (nee First Fridays) Open Mic events hosted by the writer / time dominatrix Amy Wallen.
With dreams of getting a story together for This American Life, or maybe even hosting her own public radio show one day, she bought a digital audio recorder. And then a USB microphone for her computer. And did voice overs for work videos. And tinkered with other audio projects along the way.
With WritersOutLoud.com, Jennifer hopes to offer other audio phile writers a place to showcase their work….
Jennifer is currently building the innaugural edition, and putting together an editorial board for a scheduled October 2009 Launch date.
